Finnebrogue

Working with one of Northern Ireland’s largest food producers to redefine its corporate brand, strengthen its product architecture and create a unified identity capable of driving long-term commercial growth.

At a time when food manufacturers were facing intense retail pressure, shifting consumer expectations and growing scrutiny around sustainability, Finnebrogue had quietly become one of the industry’s most innovative businesses. Yet much of what made the company extraordinary remained largely invisible.

Across a comprehensive strategic programme, we worked alongside the leadership team to uncover the story that connected every innovation, every product and every decision the business made.

Finnebrogue had built an enviable reputation for product innovation, challenging accepted practices across bacon, sausages, plant-based foods and healthier eating. But as the business expanded, its portfolio had become increasingly fragmented.

Individual brands were competing for attention without a clear relationship to one another. Retail partners understood the products, but rarely understood the company behind them. Consumers recognised Better Naked, yet had little awareness of Finnebrogue itself or the philosophy that drove every innovation.

The business needed a strategic framework capable of uniting its corporate brand, product portfolio and communications around one compelling story.

Creating a brand that connected everything.

Our strategic work revealed something competitors simply couldn’t replicate.

While many purpose-led food brands positioned themselves around sustainability, activism or founder personality, Finnebrogue possessed something much deeper, the story of the Finnebrogue Estate and Denis Lynn’s relentless belief that food could always be made better.

Rather than inventing a new narrative, we uncovered the one that already existed.

The estate became the symbolic heart of the brand. Denis’ vision became the company’s enduring purpose. Every innovation could now be understood as another step towards changing the food industry for the better.

This transformed Finnebrogue from a collection of successful products into a business united by a single belief, that better change is always possible.

A programme that extended far beyond visual identity.

We developed the overarching brand strategy, positioning and messaging framework before completely restructuring the relationship between the corporate brand and every product range. Multiple product architecture models were explored to create greater clarity across retail, consumer and internal audiences, ultimately positioning Finnebrogue as the trusted endorsement across the portfolio.

Alongside this strategic work, we created a new corporate identity that elevated the Finnebrogue Estate into a distinctive mark of provenance and quality, reinforcing the business’s heritage while creating a premium endorsement across every touchpoint.

The resulting system provided a clear platform for future innovation, allowing new products and categories to launch with consistency while retaining their own individual personalities.

Bringing the brand to life, across every channel.

Once the strategic foundations were established, we developed an integrated communications system that allowed the new positioning to work consistently across every audience.

This included the website, consumer packaging, brand messaging, tone of voice, photography, marketing communications and social media templates.

Every touchpoint was designed to reinforce the same central idea, that Finnebrogue exists to challenge accepted practices and create better food for future generations. Rather than simply modernising the company’s appearance, the new brand gave every employee, retailer and customer a clearer understanding of what Finnebrogue stands for and why it exists.
